Steve Upham

Steve is a capital markets partner, based in Battery’s Boston office. He works closely with Battery’s private equity team and portfolio companies on financing strategy, debt capital markets activities and transaction execution across the firm’s buyout and industrial and life-sciences tools investments. 

Prior to joining Battery, Steve was a principal at The Vistria Group, where he worked on the firm’s debt capital markets team while helping lead new platform investments out of Vistria’s credit fund. He worked closely with private equity deal teams and portfolio company management teams on capital raises and other strategic transactions.

Before joining Vistria, Steve was a vice president at Golub Capital, where he focused on middle-market direct lending across a range of industries. Earlier in his career, Steve worked at Genstar Capital and Robert W. Baird.

Steve holds a BS in business with concentrations in finance and accounting from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
